Van Guilder Sets Ads AHL GP Mark
Milwaukee, WI – When Mark Van Guilder hit the ice for his first shift of the game tonight against San Antonio he became the team’s new leader in AHL games played with 367, breaking the record previously held by teammate Scott Ford.
Van Guilder started with the Admirals during the 2008-09 season and is just one of three players in the 38-year history of the team to play in parts of seven seasons with the club. During his time in Milwaukee the Roseville, MN native has accumulated 132 points on 57 goals and 75 assists. So far this year he has seven goals and 11 assists while playing in all 59 of the team’s games.
The University of Notre Dame grad, who has won the Admirals Community Man of the Year Award for each of the past four seasons has played in one game in the NHL with the Nashville Predators. He has played in 80 total ECHL games with the Cincinnati Cyclones, helping them win the Kelly Cup Title in 2010.
Van Guilder is seventh in the team’s all-time (AHL & IHL) games played list.
