Admirals Get by Wolves in Shoot-Out

Goalie Scott Darling stopped 36 shots to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 1-0 shootout win over the Chicago Wolves Tuesday night in Rosemont, IL.

The Admirals won the shootout 2-1.

Darling had to stop 26 shots in the first two periods alone. In just his 22nd game, Darling recorded his fifth shutout of the season, which ties him for second in the AHL. His counterpart, Chicago goalie Jake Allen, recorded his league-leading sixth shutout of the year.

Darling had stopped just 22.2% of shootout attempts this season in two losses. On this night, Darling allowed one goal in six Wolves chances.

The Admirals Mathieu Tousignant scored the first goal in the shootout, improving to 5/6 in the skills competition. Keith Aucoin evened the score for the Wolves. Nobody else scored among the scheduled five shooters. In sudden death, the Wolves first shooter, Derek Nesbitt, was stopped. Patrick Cehlin was the next shooter for Milwaukee and scored with a shot between the legs of Allen.
