Ads Tamed by Wild 3-0
Des Moines, IA— Goalie C.J. Motte stopped 26 shots to lead the Iowa Wild to a 3-0 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Friday at Wells Fargo Arena.
It was the sixth time the Admirals had been shutout this season. It was Milwaukee’s final road game of the year. The Admirals finished with a 19-17-2-0 record away from UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Iowa took the lead at 10:50 of the first period when Pat Cannone planted a rebound of an Alex Grant shot into the goal for his 17th marker of the season.
The Wild made it 2-0 when former Admirals forward Cal O’Reilly tapped in a rebound out of mid-air at the right post at 5:11 of the second period. It was O’Reilly’s 15th goal of the season.
Iowa’s Kyle Rau scored an empty-net goal at 19:10 of the third period.
Milwaukee goalie Troy Grosenick stopped 23 shots in the loss.
The Admirals will return home to Panther Arena to host Iowa Sat., Apr. 14in the final game of the 2017-18 season.
