Ads Season Ends in OT
Milwaukee, WI--The Admirals season game to an end at the hands of the Grand Rapids Griffins as they dropped a 3-2 OT decision in game three of the Western Division Semifinals.
Kyle Criscuolo scored the series-winning goal at the 10:03 mark of the overtime. The Griffins won two of the three games in overtime and both game almost exactly mid-way through the extra session.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening period, despite a combined 22 shots on goal.
Trevor Murphy got the Ads on the board first when his wrister from the top of the left circle beat Jared Coreau over his shoulder at 8:29 of the second.
However, a power-play tally by the Griffins Tomas Nosak with just 90 seconds left in the sandwich frame leveled the game at one.
Murphy put the Admirals back on top from almost the exact same position, but on the opposite end of the ice at the 12:37 mark of the third period. The play started when Anthony Richard held the puck alone in the Grand Rapids zone and waited for reinforements. He found Mike Ribeiro coming into the zone, who then left the puck for Murphy to tee off on and a 2-1 Ads advantage.
But just like they did in the second period, the Griffins got that one back when Matt Loritto deflected a Nosek shot by Marek Mazanec with 3:38 to play in regulation.
