Admiral Alums Help Preds in Post-Season

Milwaukee, WI—Aided by the help of 17 Admiral Alumni, the Nashville Predators make their first ever visit to the NHL’s Western Conference Finals, beginning with game one on Friday, May 13 in California against the Anaheim Ducks.

The most prominent of the former Admirals is undoubtedly goaltender Pekka Rinne, who leads the NHL this post season with a 1.37 goals against average, a .951 save % and is tied for the lead with eight wins. Rinne was a two-time All-Star during his three seasons with the Admirals where he accumulated an 83-49 record with 10 shutouts, a 2.54 GAA and a .910 save %.

In addition to Rinne, Admirals alumni have contributed to a bulk of the post-season scoring for the Predators. Ryan Ellis, who played parts of two seasons with the Ads, is tied for the Nashville post-season scoring lead with nine points (4g-5a), while fellow Admiral alums Roman Josi (4g-4a) and Filip Forsberg (3g-5a) are tied for second with eight points each.

Out of the 28 goals scored by Nashville in the playoffs, 21 have come off the sticks of former Admirals, while 71% of their overall points have been from players who once donned an Ads jersey. In addition, the Predators have just one goal in the post-season that wasn’t scored or assisted by an Ads alumni.
