Two Ads Alumni Still Alive in Stanley Cup
Milwaukee, WI—Admiral alums and current Chicago Blackhawks Scott Darling and Kimmo Timonen look to become the 14th and 15th former Admirals to hoist the Stanley Cup as the Hawks begin the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The two teammates split the chronological divide as Darling is 26 years old and played with the Admirals in 2013-14, while Timonen, who recently turned 40, had his days in Milwaukee back in 1998-99. Darling set Admiral records with a 2.00 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in his one year with the Ads, going 13-6-2 in 26 contests. Timonen played 29 games in an Admirals sweater, tallying 15 points in the process.
This is the second appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals for Timonen, who lost to the Blackhawks as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010.
The Admirals have had 13 former players and coaches hoist the Stanley Cup. The most recent winner was Sheldon Brookbank with Chicago in 2013.
Season tickets for the 2015-16 season are now on sale for as little $185 and can be purchased by calling the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550 or online at milwaukeeadmirals.com
