The Bus is Back in Town
Milwaukee, WI--Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Michael Liambas to a one-year, two-way contract.
Liambas played the 2015-16 campaign with the Rockford IceHogs notching two points (1g-1a) and 188 penalty minutes – second most in the league – in 44 games. Prior to last season, the Woodbridge, Ont., native spent parts of three seasons with the Admirals, posting 16 points (9g-7a) and 499 penalty minutes in 140 games. In 2014-15, the 5-foot-10, 195-pound left wing amassed seven points (5g-2a) and 158 penalty minutes in 53 games, and in 2013-14, ranked second in the AHL with 267 penalty minutes.
Before latching on with the Admirals in February 2013, Liambas spent time with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones (2011-13) and Orlando Solar Bears (2012-13), and the IHL’s Bloomington PrairieThunder (2008-10) while also playing 25 games for the University of British Columbia (2010-11).
Liambas played his junior hockey with the OHL’s Erie Otters, appearing in 124 games from 2006-10.
The Admirals will open up the home portion of their 2016-17 season on Saturday, October 29th at the UWM Panther Arena. The remainder of the schedule will be released later this summer.
