Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will open their 2008-09 season on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 pm in San Antonio against the Rampage After three road games, the Ads will embark on the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 18th at 7:30 pm against the Rockford IceHogs at the Bradley Center. The Admirals will play an 80-game, unbalanced schedule that will conclude almost exactly six months later when the team hosts the Chicago Wolves on Friday, April 10th.

“The 2008-09 season promises to be another exciting year for us, both on and off the ice,” noted Greenberg, who begins his fourth season as the Ads President. “With all of the fun and entertaining promotions and an exciting team on the ice, we will continue to provide our fans with a fantastic experience when they visit the Bradley Center.”

At the home opener, all fans in attendance will receive a schedule magnet of the 2008-09 season, courtesy of Old Orchard. The team’s popular FM106/Miller Lite Country Music night is slated for Friday, January 23rd, however the artist is yet to be determined. The entire promotional schedule will be released at a future date.

Unlike previous seasons, the Admirals will face just one new opponent during the course of the 08-09 campaign. The Ads will battle the Lake Erie Monsters, the AHL Affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche for the first time on Wednesday, October 22nd in Cleveland. The Monsters, who will begin their second season in the league, make their first-ever visit to the Bradley Center on Friday, March 20th.

March is the busiest month of the season for the Ads, as the team will play 15 contests during the third month with seven of those games taking place at home and eight coming on the road. Both December and January will see the Admirals play 14 contests. April is the least populated month with just six games, but all of them will be within the first ten days.

Home Schedule
Under the tutelage of second-year Head Coach Lane Lambert, the Admirals will play 28 of their 40 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and they will do battle with 12 of the 29 other AHL teams at the Bradley Center this season.

The Admirals and seven other teams will comprise the Western Conference’s West Division, which will remain unchanged for the first time since 2004-05. Other teams in the division include the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves (Atlanta Thrashers), Houston Aeros (Minnesota Wild), Iowa Chops (Anaheim Ducks), Peoria Rivermen (St. Louis Blues), San Antonio Rampage (Phoenix Coyotes), Quad City Flames (Calgary Flames) and Rockford IceHogs (Chicago Blackhawks).

Milwaukee will play 30 of their 40 regular season home contests against teams from their own division. The Ads will play Chicago, Rockford, Quad City, and Iowa five times, the Rivermen four times, and the Rampage and Aeros on three occasions. The Admirals will have their remaining 10 games against the North Division, including a pair of contests against Lake Erie. Milwaukee will do battle four times with the Grand Rapids Griffins, two with the Manitoba Moose and one against the Hamilton Bulldogs and Toronto Marlies.

Just as in the 2007-08 season Friday will be the most popular night for the Admirals, as the team will hit the BC ice 14 times for Friday affairs throughout the season. Sundays are the next most frequent date with eight games and Saturday comes in third with six games. Tuesday is the most popular weekday night with five home contests.

The Ads longest homestand of the year will be five games from Sunday, February 8th until Thursday, February 19th. From the eighth of February to the sixth of March, Milwaukee will play 11 of their 13 contests at the Bradley center. However, the Admirals do not have another homestretch of more than three games during the rest of the season.

Road Schedule
The Admirals have a hat trick of five-game road trips this season, their longest stretches away from the Bradley Center. The first five-game swing will begin with a pair of games in Houston over Thanksgiving weekend in what has become an annual trek for Milwaukee. It will mark the fourth time in the last five years the Ads have spent the Thanksgiving Holiday in the Lone Star State. Following their games with the Aeros, the Admirals will travel up North for road tilts with Hamilton on December 4th and Toronto on December 6th before ending on December 10th in Quad City.

The team’s second five-game trip will involve a similar route, but with different opponents. On January 9th the Ads head to San Antonio for games on the 9th and 10th before heading to Winnipeg for a pair of frays with the Manitoba Moose on January 13th and 14th before ending the swing in Iowa on January 17th.

Milwaukee’s final five-gamer will keep them in the upper Midwest and will see them battle five separate opponents. The trip begins on March 8th in Quad City and includes contests with Rockford, Chicago, Grand Rapids, before ending versus Lake Erie on March 18th.

Bradley Center Game Times
With the exception of a 6:00 pm start on Tuesday, December 30th, game times for Monday through Friday contests at the Bradley Center will be 7:00 pm.
