Ads Release 2012-13 Schedule

Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will open their 2012-13 season on Friday, October 12 when they travel to Grand Rapids to battle the Griffins. The team will kick off the home portion of their schedule on Friday, October 19 at 7:00 pm against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:00 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The Ads will play a 76-game, unbalanced schedule that will conclude over six months later when they play on the road in Peoria on Sunday, April 21st.

“We are extremely excited for the 2012-13 season,” said Greenberg, who enters his eighth season as the Ads President. “We want to build on our momentum from last year when our average attendance was the highest since the 2001-02 season and on the ice where we return a great core group of players and have added a number of key newcomers to the mix.”

At the home opener, all fans in attendance will receive a schedule magnet of the 2012-13 season, courtesy of Old Orchard Juice and Pick n’ Save, while the team’s popular concert series and the rest of the promotional schedule will be released in the near future.

Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Dean Evason, the Admirals will get a heavy dose of the road to start the season as 14 of the team’s first 18 games take place away from the BMO Harris Bradley Center, including a season long seven game road swing from November 10 through November 25. However, following that stretch the Ads face just one road trip of more than three games the rest of the season.

Because of league rules that prohibit playing four games in five nights, the Admirals see a very more balanced schedule as they will play between 11 and 13 games each month from November through March. The Ads max out at 13 games in both January and February, but also face a daunting schedule at the end of the year with 10 games in the first 21 days of April, including three games in three nights to finish the season.

Once again Fridays will be the busiest night of the week for home games as the Admirals host 16 home contests in 2012-13. The Ads will play six times at the BMOBC on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, and two each on Tuesday and Thursday. The month of March will feature eight home contests, while December, January, and February all have seven. The Admirals longest homestand of the season is seven games, from February 1 through February 17 and they will play nine of 11 games at home from December 14 through January 6.

For the second consecutive season the Admirals will compete in the Midwest Division of the Western Conference, along with the Chicago Wolves, Rockford IceHogs, Peoria Rivermen, and Grand Rapids Griffins. The Ads will play 42 of their 76 games within their own division with 12 games each against the Wolves, IceHogs, and Rivermen and eight versus the Griffins.

Milwaukee will play their remaining 36 games against teams from the North and West Division, which includes every team in the Western Conference except the Rochester Americans. The Ads battle the Charlotte Checkers eight times, the Oklahoma City Barons, Abbotsford Heat, Houston Aeros and Lake Erie Monsters each four times, while they will have one home-and-home set with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Toronto Marlies, San Antonio Rampage, and Texas Stars.

The Admirals will start all games Tuesday through Saturday at 7:00 pm with the exception of Saturday, April 13, which is slated to begin at 7:30 pm. Sunday contests will either begin at 3:00 pm or 5:00 pm depending on the date. Individual tickets for the 2012-13 season will go on sale at a future date. However, season tickets are now on sale, starting at just $175. For more information, or to purchase season tickets, fans can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
