Ads Get First Win of Season in Shoot-out
Milwaukee, WI--Magnus Hellberg stopped 28 regulation shots and four in a shootout to help the Milwaukee Admirals defeat the Abbotsford Heat Saturday night, 2-1.
Hellberg improved his career record to 3-0 in shootouts, stopping 12 of 14 chances.
Taylor Beck and Patrick Cehlin scored in the shootout while Abbotsford failed to beat Hellberg in four tries.
Admirals rookie Colton Sissons forced the overtime session when he deflected a Beck shot under the right leg of Heat goalie Reto Berra. The goal was the first of Sissons’ career.
The game was scoreless until early in the third period when Roman Horak fired a quick shot past Hellberg while the Heat were on the power play. Defenseman Chad Billins played the puck from the left point off the end wall to Max Reinhart. Reinhart tapped a quick pass from the left circle to Horak in the right for the quick shot and goal at :41 of the third period.
The Admirals visit Grand Rapids Friday, Oct. 18 before opening the home schedule Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center against the Chicago Wolves.
