Rosemont, IL--Defenseman Anthony Bitetto scored his first goal of the season with 28.4 seconds remaining in overtime to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Wolves.

The win allowed the Admirals to tie the 1988-89 Admirals team for the best start in franchise history with five straight wins.

Bitetto caught a pass from Viktor Arvidsson on the left wing and carried the puck to the top of the left circle. He fired a shot to the net that beat Wolves goalie Matt Climie inside the right post for his first goal of the season at 6:31 of the overtime session. It was also the first goal for an Admirals defenseman this season.

It was the first overtime game of the season for Milwaukee and the first ever for the team since the new, seven-minute overtime rules were implemented by the league.

Goalie Marek Mazanec stopped 26 shots to earn his fifth win of the season. Seven of those saves came in overtime.

Milwaukee was outshot 9-3 in the first period but went to the locker room with a 1-0 lead. The Admirals were on the power play when Wolves defeseman Petteri Lindbohm was whistled for tripping at 4:03 of the first period. After getting a few good chances, the Wolves gained possession. A clearing attempt was knocked down on the right wing wall by Miikka Salomaki. He fed a pass to a wide-open Pontus Aberg in the left circle for a one-timer that found the back of the net. Aberg’s goal was his fourth of the season and second on the power play. Salomaki recorded the lone assist.

The Wolves tied the game at 2:38 of the second period when Milwaukee was caught on a line change. Terry Broadhurst moved the puck forward to Ty Rattie who skated unabated from the Admirals blue line and slid the puck into the net for his third goal of the season.

Milwaukee gained a short-lived 2-1 lead at 3:43 of the third period. Joe Piskula held the offensive zone for Milwaukee, tipping the puck to Austin Watson. Watson passed the puck to the right corner for Brendan Leipsic. Leipsic returned the feed to Watson in the right circle and he muscled one into the cage for his fourth goal of the season. Watson has a point in all five Admirals games this season. The lone assist went to Leipsic, his seventh of the year.

The Wolves tied there game at 6:53 of the third period when Jeremy Welsh streaked along the right wing into the Admirals zone and beat Mazanec with a shot inside the left post.

The Admirals return home to the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Saturday, October 25th at 7:00 pm to face the Lake Erie Monsters. The first 5,000 fans to the game will take home an Admirals Schedule Pen, courtesy of Saz’s Restaurant and Catering.
