Admirals Chased by Moose
Milwaukee, WI--The Admirals picked up goals from Viktor Arvidsson and Stevie Moses but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Manitoba Moose on Thursday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
It didn't take Manitoba long to grab an early 1-0 lead as they created a 2-on-1 off a turnover at the Milwaukee blueline and former Admiral Matt Halischuk buried it just 23 second into the game.
The Moose pushed their lead to a two with a power-play goal by Joel Armia 6:34 into the game.
Milwaukee finally got on the board with a PPG of their own at the 8:43 mark. Kevin Fiala fed a cross-ice pass to Viktor Arvidsson, who fired a one timer over the shoulder of Moose goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
It was the fourth straight game that the Ads have scored on the power-play.
A needle-threading pass from Anthony Bitetto helped the Ads tie the game at two with 3:09 left in the first period. Bitetto sauced a pass from the right point to a streaking Colton Sissons near the far dot, creating a quick 2-on-1. Sissons quickly passed to Stevie Moses who had a wide open net for his second goal of the year.
However, the Moose struck back on Brenden Kichton's second goal of the year at the 7:39 mark of the middle frame and they had the lead back at 3-2.
The Admirals certainly had their chances in the third period, but couldn't convert on any of three power-play chances and fell to the Moose.
The Admirals hit the road for two straight games in Iowa against the Wild, beginning on Saturday night at 7 pm.
