Admirals Claim Zengerle Off Waivers
Milwaukee, WI—The Admirals announced today that the team has claimed forward Mark Zengerle off of waivers.
Zengerle, who had been under an AHL contract with the Rochester Americans before being claimed, had played nine games this season with Linkopings HC of the Swedish Hockey League. During the 2016-17 campaing he tallied 13 goals and added 21 assists for 34 points in 69 games with Lehigh Valley. He played seasons with the Grand Rapids Griffins from 2014-16, totaling 84 points (24g-60a) in 144 contests.
The Rochester, NY native finished a distinguished four-year career at the University of Wisconsin in 2014 when he lead the team in scoring with 44 points (10g-34a) and was named to the inaugural All-Big Ten Team. During his time as a Badger he scored 37 goals and dished out 125 assists for 162 points while skating in 151 games.
Zengerle will look to make his Admirals debut on Saturday night when the team plays host to the Rockford IceHogs at 6 pm at Panther Arena.
