Blake Shelton to Perform January 29

Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that national recording artist Blake Shelton will perform in a post-game concert following the team’s 7:00 pm game with the Houston Aeros on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Bradley Center in the team’s annual FM106/Miller Lite Country Music Night.

The performance will be the first concert the Admirals will host for their fans this season, but will be Shelton’s second appearance as part of the Admirals Concert Series, as he visited the Bradley Center during the 2007-2008 season.

On-ice passes, which allow fans unprecedented access to watch the concert from the ice in front of the stage will go on sale at a later date.

“We are very pleased to bring Blake Shelton back to perform this year,” said Greenberg. “His last minute substitute appearance in 2007 was memorable and we are sure that he will put on a phenomenal show for Admirals and country music fans on January 29.”

The Oklahoma native burst onto the country music scene when his debut single, “Austin”, reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in 2001. The single from his self-titled debut album remained at number one for five weeks, tying Billy Ray Cyrus’ record for a debut single.

Overall, Shelton has had five number one songs including his most recent chart topper “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” as well as, “Austin”, “The Baby”, “Some Beach”, a cover of Michael Buble’s “Home”.

Shelton has recorded five solo albums since 2001, the most recent being Startin’ Fires, which was released in Nov. 2008 and peaked at number seven on the US Country charts. He is currently working on his sixth album which is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Shelton has previously toured with Rascal Flatts in their 2005 tour, “Here’s to You” and once again in 2006 on their “Me and My Gang” tour. In addition, in 2007 he served as a judge on the popular talent competition, “Nashville Star.”
