Admirals Honored to Welcome Vets Friday

Milwaukee, WI--The Amtrak Rivalry is back to full force this Friday, November 15 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center when the Milwaukee Admirals take on the Chicago Wolves at 7 pm.

Friday is also the Admirals’ annual Military Appreciation Night. Veterans and active military personnel can receive free tickets to the game by bringing their Military IDs, American Legion or VFW Cards, or a copy of the DD214 form to the Admirals office during regular business hours or to the BMO Harris Bradley Center Box office prior to the game. There is a limit of one ticket per veteran.

The Admirals will welcome the Cream City Crooners, a group of World War II veterans, to sing the National Anthem on Friday. Vietnam War hero and Medal of Honor recipient Gary Wetzel will also be in attendance to drop the ceremonial first puck.

Wetzel displayed extraordinary heroism in the time he spent in Vietnam. Just days away from finishing his second tour, he was critically wounded after his aircraft was shot down. Wetzel still found the courage to provide aid to his commander and fellow crewman. President Lyndon Johnson awarded him the Medal of Honor in 1968 for going above and beyond the call of duty. Weztel is one of the few living Medal of Honor recipients in the state of Wisconsin.

Friday’s game also gives fans the opportunity to contribute to the Ads’ annual Toys for Tots Drive. For each new and unwrapped toy donated, fans receive one voucher for a free ticket to enjoy any game between November 19 and December 27. Fans who want to donate multiple toys can receive up to two vouchers. An entry form attached to each voucher is open to fans 21 and older who can fill it out and return it to a box located at the DigiCopy Information Table located behind section 225 for a chance to win a Funjet vacation.

The matchup between the Admirals and Wolves will be the two teams’ second of the season, after having played each other for the Admirals home opener on October 19. The Ads are looking to even the series against the Wolves this Friday after falling 3-2 in OT at their first meeting.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 or by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of 10 or more receive significant discounts off the original ticket price. For more information, or to purchase group tickets, fans can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
