Saros, Aberg Return to Milwaukee
Milwaukee, WI--Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile today announced that the club has recalled goalie Marek Mazanec from Milwaukee and assigned forward Pontus Aberg and goalie Juuse Saros to the Admirals.
Mazanec has appeared in three games for the Predators this season and is 0-2-0 with a 5.44 goals-against average and .809 save percentage. He is 3-1-0 with a 2.73 goals-against average and .886 save percentage in five games for the Admirals this season.
Aberg has played in nine games for the Preds this season, posting two points (1g-1a). He made his NHL regular-season debut on Nov. 8, earned his first NHL point on Nov. 10, and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 17. Aberg has earned nine points (5g-4a) in nine games with Milwaukee this season.
Saros is 9-1-0 with a 1.59 goals-against average and .945 save percentage in 10 games with the Admirals this season and was recently named the CCM/AHL Goalie of the Month for November. Recalled on an emergency basis to the Preds on Oct. 22, Saros started and earned the win in a 5-1 victory against Pittsburgh. He stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced, allowing just one goal in 59:22 of ice time. It was Saros’ first career NHL victory and second NHL game.
Saros and Aberg will join the Admirals as they continue a four-game roadtrip in Iowa on Tuesday night. Milwaukee returns home Sat., Dec. 10 to host the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
