Admirals Fall to Stars

Milwaukee, WI– The Milwaukee Admirals fell to the Texas Stars 5-1 at the Bradley Center Friday night as Stars forward and former Admiral Mathieu Beaudoin recorded a hat trick.

Beaudoin found the back of the net three times after coming into tonight’s game with only one goal in 24 contests.

The Stars opened the scoring when Perttu Lindgren carried the puck into the Admirals zone and blindly flung it to the net where Travis Morin deflected the puck and Beaudoin tipped it in to put the Stars up 1-0 6:02 into the game.

Texas added to their lead just 1:16 later when Colton Sceviour tipped a Brad Lukowich shot from the point past a screened Chet Pickard.

Chris Mueller registered the Admirals only tally of the night when Nick Spaling won a face-off to the right of Texas goalie Matt Climie with 8:48 remaining in the second period. The puck squirted to Mueller in the slot where he fired a shot past the net minder’s glove.

Beaudoin lit the lamp again when he unleashed a slap shot from the high slot at 14:18 of the second period. He was set up by a pass from Matt Stephenson at the top of the near circle. Maxime Fotunus also was credited with an assist.

Raymond Sawada put Texas up 4-1 after Admirals goaltender Chet Pickard was caught out of position and Sawada collected an easy tally from the goal line 3:24 into the final frame.

Beaudoin completed his hat trick when he buried a back door pass from Ivan Vishnevskiy on a 5-on-3 power play with 7:11 to play.

Climie was strong between the pipes turning away 26 of Milwaukee’s 27 shots on goal.

The Admirals are back on home ice Saturday night versus the Manitoba Moose at 7:30 pm. The first 5,000 fans will get a winter scarf, courtesy of the Milwaukee Brewers.
