The Bears Rain in Admirals Win

Milwaukee, WI--Playing in just his second game with the Admirals, Matt White scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the team to a 5-2 win over the Texas Stars Sunday afternoon at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

White made the teddy bears rain when he scored his first goal as an Admiral with just 2:51 remaining in the opening period. White and Zach Budish came into the Stars' zone 2-on-1 and White beat Texas goalie Jack Campbell to the top corner that led to a 10-minute delay to pick up all of the bears.

The Ads lead didn't last long, however, as the Stars Curtis MacKenzie registered his third goal of the campaign with just over a minute to play in the period.

White put the Ads back up with is second goal of the night at the 8:20 mark of the second period. White sailed a one-timer shortside past Campbell and its was 2-1 Milwaukee.

Texas had the answer again, as Matej Stansky scored just three seconds after the Stars began a on 5-on-3 power play.

However, the same penalty that gave Texas that two-man advantage also gave the Admirals several shorthanded opportunities and Joe Pendenza took advantage, After Max Reinhart dropped the puck for him at the left Texas circle, Pendenza took two strides before firing a wrister into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

Third period goals by Frederick Gaudreau and Jimmy Oligny, his first of the season, iced the game for the Admirals.

White finished the night with three points, while Zach Budish, also playing in his second game of the year, chipped in with a pair of assists. Marek Mazanec made 29 saves in the win and helped keep the AHL's highest scoring offense in check.
