Admirals Dumped by Wolves

Milwaukee, WI--Justin Florek and Trevor Smith scored for the Admirals but they couldn't hold off the Chicago Wolves, dropping a 5-2 decision in Amtrak Rivalry action on Saturday night at the Panther Arena.

The home loss in regulation was the first for Milwaukee since their home opener on October 29.

The Admirals jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the first period on Florek's third of the season. Jimmy Oligny fired a shot from the left point that Florek deflected up and over the shoulder of Chicago goalie Phoenix Copley.

After Chris Butler tied it up for the Wolves at 10:16, Ads Captain Trevor Smith put the team up 2-1 when he split the Wolves defense, took an outlet pass from Blake Kessel and scored on a breakaway with 8:14 left in the first.

A late power-play goal by Chicago's Ivan Barabashev leveled the score at two heading into the second.

The second period went by without a goal for either team, depsite six combined power-play attempts which included five for the Wolves.

Chicago's Vince Dunn broke the tie at 4:49 of the third when he sent a snap-shot from the top of the right circle over the glove of Milwaukee netminder Jonas Gunnarsson.

Dunn and Kenny Agostino each scored later in the third period to bring the final score to 5-2.

The Ads are off on Sunday before they host the San Antonio Rampage on Monday night at 7 pm at the Panther Arena.
