Ads Losing Streak Hits Six
Milwaukee, WI--The Admirals saw their losing streak hit six games on Wednesday night as they fell to the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The loss also dropped the Ads to 0-4 on their current five-game homestand. During those four contests the team's power-play is 0-for-17, including 0-for-5 tonight
The game remained scoreless through the half-way point of the second before Rockford grabbed a 1-0 lead at 12:25 of the middle frame. Jared Ross took a beautiful pass from Phillip Danault and tipped it past Milwaukee goalie Magnus Hellberg.
The Ads managed to tie the score with just 1:21 remaining in the second on Pontus Aberg's team-leading 10th goal of the season. The play started when Viktor Arvidsson came away with a loose puck in front of the Milwaukee bench. He carried it into the Hogs zone and passed to Aberg, who fired a shot from the right dot that beat Rockford goalie Michael Leighton over the shoulder and sent the water bottling flying off the top of the goal.
However, T.J. Brennan continued to be a thorn in the Admirals side as he gave Rockford a 2-1 lead just 40 seconds into the final period, on what would end up being the game-winner. Brennan snapped a wrister from bottom of the left circle over Hellberg's shoulder.
Hellberg stopped 20 shots on the night, but still suffered the loss, just his second regulation defeat of the season.
