Marquette Tops Greendale in Admirals Cup
Marquette University High School senior forward Joe Llaurado scored four goals and added two assists to help the Hilltoppers to an 8-1 victory over the Greendale Ice Force in the first game of the sixth annual Admirals Cup Friday morning at Wilson Park.
The Hilltoppers got on the board first when forward Will Podewils sent a pass from the corner through the slot and it was tipped in by sophomore forward Jackson Weiss at 12:09. Aaron Miller and Llaurado also lit the lamp for Marquette during the first and it was 3-0 Hilltoppers after one stanza.
The Toppers posted four in the second, beginning with two goals nine seconds apart to put them up 5-0. Llaurado earned his second of the game at 5:55 and then he assisted on Griff Jezka tally 6:04 into the period.
Llaurado picked up the hat trick when he fired a wrister from the right circle that beat Greendale netminder Jared Hoffman at 10:15 of the second, and then added a fourth with a tip off a shot by Kevin Hanigan to give Marquette a 7-0 lead after two.
After a Ben Lowe goal 1:50 of the third, Greendale got their lone tally of the game when Joe Jensen picked up an assisted tally at 6:56 to wrap of the scoring in the contest.
