Day One of the Admirals Cup Completed
Milwaukee, WI—Arrowhead High School and WNS each won their first round games of the Admirals Cup, presented by Bradley Corporation, on Monday afternoon at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The two teams will now face-off in the Championship Game on Wednesday at 2:15.
The opening game of the tournament featured Arrowhead and Homestead. Gavin Henry’s second goal of the game for Homestead just under five minutes into the second period staked the Highlanders to a 2-1 lead, but that was the last that they would find the back of the net as Arrowhead scored the game’s final four tallies. Caleb Beversdorf and Tyler Trivett each scored a goal and added an assist for the Warhawks.
Game two featured a hat trick from WNS Storm’s Mile Torbica as they cruised to an 8-3 win over Cedarburg. WNS jumped out to a 6-1 two period lead, but the Bulldogs scored the next two to make it a three-goal contest. However, back-to-back tallies from WNS just 16 seconds apart in the third period sealed the deal for the Storm.
Homestead and Cedarburg will play in the third-place game on Wednesday afternoon at 12 pm at Panther Arena, followed by the Championship game at 2:15. Both games are free to attend. Fans can enter the arena beginning at 11:30 am.
