Homestead Advances to Admirals Cup Final
Hartland, WI--Mequon Homestead scored the game's final four goals, including three in the third period, to take a 5-1 win over Fond du Lac and advance to the championship game of the Admirals Cup, presented by Bradley Corporation.
Homestead got on the board first when junior Cole Simpson scored at the 15:56 mark of the first period, however, Fond du Lac knotted the score just 3:11 into the second period when Benjamin Pertl found the back of the net.
It was all Homestead from their on out, as they took the lead for good on a power-play tally by senior forward Michael Schulz just 2:18 after the Carinals tied it up.
Joey Hobbs, Ryan Mezera, and Max Henry all scored in the third period for Homestead, who will face either Marquette University High School or De Pere in the finals on Thursday at 2:46 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Hobbs, Mezera, and Schulz all posted a goal and an assist for Homestead, while goalie Killian Martin earnd the win in net with 26 saves. Fondy netminder William Shober stopped 32 shots in the loss for the Cardinals.
