Marquette Heads to Admirals Cup Title Game
Hartland, WI--Marquette High School center Jackson Weiss tallied a hat trick to help lead the Hilltoppers to a 5-2 win over De Pere and a berth in the finals of the 2013 Admiral Cup, presented by Bradley Corporation.
Marquette's Pat Reiman kicked off the scoring just 2:03 into the game, but De Pere answered at 8:14 on a goal by Will Reabe to knot the score at one.
However, the Hilltoppers posted goals 23 second apart at the beginning of the second period to grab a lead they would not relinquish. Jack Lewis got the scoring started at the 2:31 mark and then Weiss posted the first of his three goals at 2:54 to push their lead to 3-1.
Weiss made it 4-1 2:22 into the third before De Pere's Reabe tallied his second goal of the game with 7:47 to play.
The Hilltoppers will play in the Championship Game Friday afternoon at 2:46 against Mequon Homestead, while De Pere plays Fond du Lac for third place at the BMO Harris BC at noon. Both games are free to attend.
In other action at the Admirals Cup, Germantown topped WNS 5-1 and Cederburg defeated Hartland Arrowhead 4-3.
