Arrowhead Nets Admirals Cup Title
Milwaukee, WI—The Arrowhead Warhawks captured their second consecutive Admirals Cup Championship with a 12-3 win over the WNS Storm on Wednesday afternoon at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Forwards Caleb Beversdorf and Jaxson Carr each tallied five points in the game for Arrowhead as Beversdorf notched four goals and an assist while Carr had three goals and two assists. This was the fifth Admirals Cup title for Arrowhead in the ten years of the tournament.
Arrowhead led the game by one after the first period, but exploded for six goals in the middle frame on their way to the victory. Carr started the scoring just 18 seconds into the second period and he was joined in the scoring during the sandwich frame by Caleb Beversdorf (2), Ben Beversdorf, Tyler Trivett, and Jack Schlinsog.
Goalie Aaron Nicholson stopped 15 of 18 shots to earn the win for the Warhawks, while Robert Ali made 19 saves for WNS but suffered the loss.
Dominic Murano, Mile Torbica, and Connor Agvilar scored the goals for WNS in the contest.
In the third place game Homestead topped Cedarburg 5-2. The Highlanders were led by goalie Ty Barnhill, who was named 1st Star of the Game after stopping 21 of 23 shots. Trailing 2-0 after two periods, Cedarburg’s Alex Russo scored at 1:49 of the third to cut the Homestead lead to 2-1. However, The Highlanders responded just 37 seconds later on a tally from PJ Quale and Cedarburg would get no closer.
