Admirals Lose in OT

Stars’ defenseman Bryce Lampman scored the game winner with 2:24 to go in overtime to give Iowa a 3-2 win over Milwaukee Friday in Des Moines.

Maxime Daigneault, playing just his sixth game of the year, stopped 23 of 26 Stars shots.

Lampman’s shot eluded Daigneault from above the left circle to give the Stars the win.

Milwaukee fell to 19-16-2-1 with the loss.

Iowa took the lead with a goal from Konstantin Pushkarev at 7:14 of the second. He scored with a wrist shot over Daigneault’s left shoulder just as Janne Niskala left the penalty box.

Milwaukee tied the game with 13.4 seconds left in the second period when josh Langfeld fired a shot right off the faceoff to the right of Iowa goalie Tobias Stephan between Stephan’s legs. It was Langfeld’s ninth goal of the season, second on the power play and 200th AHL point.

Iowa took the lead when Marc Bomersback fired a wrister from the left circle between Daigneault’s legs at 10:11 of the third but the Admirals knotted the game with 2:31 left when Langfeld’s quick shot from the slot went in. Cal O’Reilly and Janne Niskala notched assists.

The Admirals take on the Rockford IceHogs at 7:30 pm Saturday night at the Bradley Center.

Sunday’s Hannah Montana concert at the Bradley Center is sold-out, but one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to the show Saturday.

The Admirals will randomly select 100 contestants to come onto the ice during the second intermission for a chance to win the tickets.  Those selected will each pick a random bag from that is dispersed across the ice.  Each of the bags will contain a special prize, including Admirals tickets and merchandise, and one of the bags will contain the Hannah Montana tickets.

Fans can purchase tickets for Saturday or any Admirals game by calling Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
