Ads Drop Road Trip Finale

Goalie Matt Murray stopped 27 shots to lead the Texas Stars to a 5-0 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

Milwaukee has lost two straight. The Admirals remain in a tied for second place in the Central Division with Rockford. Both tare ears are six points behind first-place Texas.

The shutout loss was Milwaukee’s third of the season.

The first goal of the game wasn’t scored until the second period. Mavrik Bourque tallied for Texas at 12:29 as he tapped a Jacob. Peterson feed into the net for his seventh goal of the season at 12:29.

The Stars claimed a 2-0 lead at 14:11 of the second period when Riley Damiani fired a shot into the goal for his sixth marker of the year.

Stars defenseman Will Butcher scored a power play goal with a slap shot from the point at 6:26 of the third period to give Texas a 3-0 advantage.

Matej Blumel scored for the Stars at 16:49 of the second period when he completed a 2-on-1 play. Alex Petrovic closed the scoring at 19:22 of the third with a shot from the right point.

Ads goalie Yaroslav Askarov stopped 28 shots in the loss.

The Admirals return to Milwaukee Wed., Jan. 18 for a home game against the Springfield Falcons at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
