Stefan Noesen scored a pair of goals to lead the Chicago Wolves to a 6-1 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday at Allstate Arena.
Noesen leads the American Hockey League with 37 goals.
The Wolves outshot the Admirals 33-22. In the first period, Chicago outshot the Admirals 13-3.
Chicago’s Noesen gave his team a 1-0 lead at 6:08 of the first period with a slap shot from the slot while the Wolves were in transition. It was his 36th goal of the season.
The Wolves grabbed a 2-0 lead at 13:32 when David Gust poked a loose puck from behind Admirals goalie Connor Ingram into the goal.
Milwaukee scored its first goal on the power play at 16:51. Matt Donovan fed a pass from the point to Tommy Novak in the left circle. Novak sent a pass to Cody Glass in the right circle. Glass’ shot deflected off Wolves defender Jesper Sellgren into the net for the tally. It was the 12th goal of the season for Glass, and his fifth on the power play. With the points, both Glass and Donovan extended their personal points streaks to seven games.
Noesen gave the Wolves a 3-1 lead at 7:34 of the second frame. With a delayed penalty coming against the Admirals, Noesen had the puck at the left post. He raised a shot past the right ear of Ingram into the goal for his 37th marker of the year.
Chicago scored three goals in the third period to gain the win.
Milwaukee returns home Sun., Apr. 3 to host the Grand Rapids Griffins at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
