Arrowhead Captures Admirals Cup

Milwaukee, WI–Senior forward Nick Catalano scored with 55.1 seconds to go in over to time give Hartland Arrowhead a come-from-behind 4-3 victory in the Championship Game of the Admirals Cup, presented by Pepsi, on Friday afternoon at Panther Arena.

Overtime was needed after a furious final two minutes of regulation that saw Arrowhead’s Carson Heitman give them a 3-2 lead with 1:23 to play with a power-play marker.

However, Marquette responded with a 6-on-4 power-play tally coming from the stick of junior forward Jacob Slater.

Arrowhead trailed by two heading into the third period, but picked up goals from Jake Mullett and Trenton Skaggs to level the score at 2-2.

Marquette jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a goals during the second period from Miles Burbach and William Mullooly.

Hilltoppers goalie Nick Ahlers was impressive in net, stopping 40 shots, while Arrowhead netminder David Nunnally made 19 saves to earn the victory in goal for the Warhawks.

Third Place Game

Mequon Homestead sophomore Rocco Cicirello scored the game-winning goal 3:09 into overtime to give the the Highlanders a 4-3 win over Appleton United in the third place game of the Admirals Cup.

The OT tally for Cicirello came after he knotted the game at three with less than fourminutes to play in regulation, setting the stage for overtime. Meanwhile Homestead goalie Chase Kolega stopped 35 Appleton shots to record the win.

The United picked up goals from freshmen forwards Ethan Christofferson and Tyler Hell and also junior forward Cameron Dahl.
