Fans Choose the Name on Jerseys

Milwaukee, WI—For the first time ever, the Admirals are going to let the fans personalize a warm-up jersey that the players will wear. The team will wear specialty warm-up jerseys during four games in November in support of Hockey Fights Cancer month.

The purple-themed jerseys are currently up for bid and the unique part is the winning fan will get to choose the name of that goes on the back of the jersey. Fans are encouraged to use a name of someone that they have lost or is currently fighting cancer. The name on the back could be a first, last or nickname, but cannot exceed 16 characters in length. The Admirals do reserve the right to veto inappropriate names.

The bidding on the jerseys, which will be worn during warm-ups on November 1, 6, 13, and 23, will run through Monday, October 14 at 6 pm. Fans can view the auction and place their bids by texting ADMIRALS to 52182 or visiting http://admirals.gesture.com. The winning bidders will also get to meet the players after the game on the 23rd.

Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD), a Milwaukee-based non-profit, that offers personalized peer support for people affected by breast cancer. Services are free at all times and are available by contacting ABCD or through a growing number of cancer centers that partner their peer support services with ABCD.

Founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League® and the National Hockey League Players’ Association, Hockey Fights Cancer™ (HFC) unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. The initiative gets an assist from players, coaches, officials, equipment managers, front office staff, corporate partners, and fans. Together, the hockey family looks to inspire hope and courage for those who are living with, going through and moving past cancer.

The Admirals 2019-20 regular season, presented by Landmark Credit Union, continues next Friday night when the Ads visit the Grand Rapids Griffins before opening the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 12 at 6 pm against the Laval Rocket at Panther Arena.
