Point Streak Ends at Five

Milwaukee, WI – The Admirals saw their five-game point streak come to an end as Manitoba held on for a 3-2 victory on Friday night at Panther Arena.

Manitoba struck first with a shorthanded goal that was finished by Dominic Toninato 7:16 into the first period. Manitoba extended its lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal from Dylan Coghlan at 15:15.

That goal seemed to spark the Admirals, as less than a minute later with commotion in front of the net, Jake Livingstone let a shot rip from the point that was deflected in by Anthony Angello and past Manitoba goalie Domenic DiVincentiis, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Ondrej Pavel evened the score in the second period with a rocket from the top of the circle. The goal came off sustained offensive zone pressure, with Ryan Ufko and Anthony Angello setting him up for his first of the season and his first as an Admiral.

However, Manitoba regained the lead later in the period when Mason Shaw scored from in close at 13:19, making it 3-2.

The Moose locked things down in the third, holding Milwaukee off the scoresheet to secure the win.

Angello made his presence felt, factoring into both Admirals tallies with a goal and an assist.

The Admirals head to Rockford tomorrow, February 1, to face the IceHogs at 7:00 p.m. in their final game before the All-Star break.
