Statement Win in Regular Season Finale

Milwaukee, WI – A dominant third period and a shutout performance from Matt Murray powered the Admirals to a 5-0 rout over the Chicago Wolves in their final game of the regular season.

Milwaukee brought back the plaid and honored the late Bob Uecker with specialty jerseys, paying tribute to the iconic broadcaster and the team’s popular 1990s ad campaign.

After a scoreless first period, Kieffer Bellows opened the scoring early in the second. Assisted by Ozzy Wiesblatt, Bellows ripped a shot on the zone entry that deflected off a Wolves defender and soared over the shoulder of Spencer Martin to make it 1-0.

The Admirals added to their lead later in the period with a power play goal from Jake Lucchini, who redirected a pass from Mark Friedman for his 21st goal of the season, setting a new career high.

In the third, Joakim Kemell split the defense off a feed from Cal O’Reilly and buried the puck five-hole to make it 3-0. The floodgates opened from there.

Moments later, Ondrej Pavel added a breakaway goal of his own. Set up by Ryder Rolston, Pavel broke free shorthanded, froze Martin with a slick deke, and finished with a smooth backhand to push the lead to four.

Shortly after Pavel’s tally, chaos in front of the net created by Chase De Leo allowed Grigori Denisenko to capitalize on a loose rebound and cap off the scoring at 5-0.

Bellows finished with a goal and an assist, while Jesse Ylönen recorded two assists. Murray stopped all 16 shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season, a new personal best.

With the win, the Admirals clinched back-to-back Central Division titles and now turn their focus to the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs, which begin at home in the Division Semifinals on Thursday, May 1 and Saturday, May 3.
