Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee brought the intensity but Henderson capitalized on their chances as the Admirals dropped a 4-2 decision to the Silver Knights on Saturday night at Panther Arena.
The loss snapped a five-game home winning streak for the Ads, who were playing for the fifth time in seven nights.
The Admirals wasted no time getting on the board, striking just 2:46 into the first period on the power play. Mark Friedman picked up his first point as an Admiral, setting up Spencer Stastney for a shot that Chase De Leo cleaned up on the rebound to give Milwaukee an early 1-0 lead.
Henderson responded with a power-play goal of their own shortly after as Gage Quinney weaved through the Admirals’ defense and found the back of the net, evening the score at 1-1.
Mason Morelli put the Silver Knights on top midway through the second, scoring his first goal of the season on a two-on-one break to make it 2-1.
The game’s intensity ramped up after Kyle Marino took on former Admiral Mitch McLain in a heavyweight bout, with Marino coming out on top and firing up the Milwaukee bench.
The Admirals capitalized on that momentum, tying the game just as four-on-four play expired. Ozzy Weisblatt set up Ryan Ufko, who buried his sixth goal of the season with a shot from the point at 15:12 to make it 2-2.
However, Henderson regained the lead in the third when Matyas Sapovaliv fired a shot from the slot past Matt Murray at 8:29, making it 3-2.
The Silver Knights sealed the win late as Cal Burek broke free on a breakaway and buried it to secure a 4-2 victory.
The Admirals continue their seven-game homestand this Tuesday, February 25, as the LeHigh Valley Phantoms come to town for their first matchup of the season.
